The Friday Stickler
A grumpy review of yesterday’s action
Ugh. For a lot of fans that was the sound they made at yesterday’s final whistle’s as their team’s new year got of to a faltering start.
Different sounds at Ibrox though - a mixture of Simply the Best, goal celebrations, coins whistling through the air, sectarian chanting and Ian Crocker achieving satisfaction. If we could just have the goal celebrations bit that would be so much better.
Yes, it’s Rangers v Celtic time. Unusually at 3pm. Two things are true - Rangers were totally on it from the start and Celtic were as flat and inept as I’ve ever seen them domestically under Brendan.
The Rangers scored early through Ianis Hagi after tenacious work from the Amish bulldog Nico Raskin.
Liam Scales kept on passing it to blue shirts, so did Hatate mind. They were all guff. The home side got star performances all over the park, who needs Tav eh. After Kyogo’s sublime lob of the midget keeper Liam Kelly was correctly ruled offside the Blue Tide scored again through Rob Propper and Jason Derulo Danilo.
The Rangers players deserved a treat and so did Count Clement. A trip to the cinema to watch the Count’s great great great great Grandad Orlok. Can’t wait to see it myself.
There’s only two days left for free subscribers to take advantage of a 20% discount off an annual subscription to The Stickler. That’s about 1,500 cartoons a year for 11p a day. Pretty sensational value that. To take up the offer click here
Let’s go round the other grounds and see how those under pressure managers were getting on.
