Hello

Another weekend of controversy and that usually means the officiating doesn’t it.

The richest league in the world, the EPL, has its fair share of referee and VAR mistakes. Even the NFL with its billions has huge issues with officiating. To err is human and even with VAR it’s still human judgement for most decisions.

Maybe it’s because we have such a small pool of officials that it feels like it’s the same faces making mistakes every bloody week. That small pool means there are no repercussions for a poor performance as far as I can see.

Apologies for not getting this newsletter out yesterday, just didn’t have the capacity to do it justice.

Before we get into the controversy how about the goal of the weekend.

Ethan Hamilton with the horizontal run, pivot and absolute thunderbolt to give Dundee a long, long, long overdue win over Aberdeen.

Now onto the controversies.

  1. A Sportscene debut for Ross McCormack and his eyebrows. He looks a lot like a genetically modified Barry Ferguson.
